Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett has tested the positive Covid-19, his office said on Monday, after he met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Bennett, who met Mr. Blinken in Jerusalem on Sunday on the sidelines of “the historic summit” of Israeli and Arab diplomats, “feel good and will continue his schedule according to the plan of his house,” said a statement from his office.
Police said the two armed men – Israeli Arabs identified by Israeli intelligence as local were operators – killed by counterterrorism officers who happened to be nearby.
The Bennett office said that on Monday the Prime Minister “will conduct a situation assessment after the attack that occurred last night with” defense ministers, public security, Army Chief of Staff and other officials.
The pictures published by Israeli media after his visit to Hadera, where he was also briefed by the police about the attack, showing him wearing a face mask.
But the prime minister did not have a face mask during a press conference along with Mr. Blinken on Sunday.
US Top Diplomats are in Israel to attend landmark talks with officials from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco – countries that normalize relations with the Jewish state by 2020.
The talks came amid the increase in regional concerns over the Washington agreement could soon win Iran to restore the 2015 nuclear agreement.
Israel and most Arab Bay skeptical countries on the agreement revived with Tehran, which the Jewish state considers threats to its existence.
The Negev meeting also took place as the United States and European allies revealed calm frustration that Middle Eastern countries generally have not shown strong support for efforts to support Ukraine after Russian invasion or distance themselves from Moscow.
On Sunday night, after meeting Bennett, Blinken went to the West Bank who was occupied by Israel for talks with Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas.
