The protesters who occupy the President of Sri Lanka and the prime minister’s residence after months of anger protest demanded their resignation in the midst of a severe economic crisis continue to find innovative ways to entertain themselves.
After their video swimming in a swimming pool, eating in the kitchen, relaxing in the bedroom, and exercising in the gym at the President’s Palace became viral, another video of them wrestled playing in the prime minister’s bed to entertain social media.
A video posted by Twitter user “Sri Lanka Tweet” shows a group of young men playing in bed in the official residence of the Prime Minister. In a short clip edited to the background comments of the wrestling match, the protesters can be seen as professional wrestlers and try each other
The demonstrators had previously burned the private residence of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe even after he offered to resign.
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywarda told reporters that President Rajapaksa had agreed to resign on July 13. Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said he would resign as soon as the party government was ready to take over.
President Rajapaksa has fled and is currently on the Sri Lanka Navy ship, a government source told NDTV. Yesterday, the Sri Lanka government said that President Rajapaksa would resign on July 13.
Head of Army Sri Lanka Shavendra Silva also sought the support of people to maintain peace when the island country wrestled with a crisis that had never happened before. Four ministers have resigned from the cabinet for the past two days in the midst of riots.
Sri Lanka staggered under the lack of foreign exchange which had resulted in the worst financial crisis in almost seven decades. The country has been beaten by a lack of severe food and fuel along with a prolonged blackout.
