Company Director of CBI Books to cheat IDBI Bank with Rs. 168 CR.

The CBI has booked four guwahati-based company promoters and other people because they were suspected of deceiving IDBI banks around ₹ 168.62 Crore.

The defendant has been identified as Pranab Ghosh, Pratul Ghosh, Gita Rani Ghosh and Prabir Kumar Ghosh, all the promoters of Ghosh Brothers Cars, and Chartered Accountant Arunabha Chatttopadhya. Unknown bank officials are also under the scanner.

Allegedly that futures loans and cash credit facilities were approved to private companies based in Betkuchi in Guwahati to buy vehicles. Allegations have used fake documents to get loans. They divert funds raised, causing the loss of the bank.

On June 1, the outstanding balance reached ₹ 153.38 Crore and the account has become an asset that does not perform because of non-payment of contributions, the CBI said.
