Not Resolved Fully”: Biden On Talks With India In Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Washington: President Joe Biden on Thursday said that the United States will have consultation with India in the crisis in Ukraine following military operations from Russia.

In a television speech on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the move to launch military operations in Ukraine came in response to threats from neighboring countries.

He also warned other countries that if they tried to disrupt Russian military operations they would see “the consequences they never saw”.

We will have consultation with India (in the Ukrainian crisis). We have not resolved completely,” Biden told reporters during a press conference at the White House in the Ukrainian crisis.

He responded to the question if India was entirely on board with the United States at Russian aggression.

It is understood that India and the United States are not on the same page in the Ukrainian crisis.

India has historic friendship and time-tested with Russia. At the same time, strategic partnerships with the United States have developed with unprecedented speeds over the past decade and half.

It is believed that the Biden government at various levels, ranging from the White House, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Security Council that has reached out for their Indian colleagues at various levels of seeking full support from the Ukrainian crisis.

During the background briefing with reporters a senior official deflected questions relating to standing India in the Ukrainian crisis at the UN Security Council.

However, behind the incident, US officials have expressed their displeasure with their Indian colleagues in the latest Indian position. India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has maintained its own strategic independence.

Previously on that day, PM Modi spoke on the phone today with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where he stressed India’s old belief that the difference between Russia and the NATO group could only be resolved through honest and sincere dialogue.

The prime minister called for immediate termination of violence and called for integrated efforts from all parties to return to the diplomatic negotiations and dialogue, according to the reading of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Putin announced in a television speech on Thursday morning in response to the request by the Donbas Head of the Republic, he has made a decision to carry out special military operations to protect people “who have suffered from abuse and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.” Putin said that Moscow had no plans to occupy the territory of Ukraine.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian army was destroying infrastructure using Ukrainian military precision weapons. The US has announced a series of sanctions against Russia to prevent access from the Western financial market.
