Planes trying to land collide in California, multiple fatalities reported

At least two people were killed in an air collision between two small aircraft in the US California on Thursday. The incident occurred when the two aircraft tried to land at the City of Watsonville Airport shortly before 3 pm, according to tweet from the city of Watsonville.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, two people were on the Cessna 340 Twin-Mesin Ship and a pilot boarded a single Cessna 152 engine during the accident. It is not clear whether anyone survived. No one in the land was injured, reported the Associated Press.

Photos and videos posted on social media show the debris of aircraft at the field at the airport and smoke lumps visible from the nearest road. In the photo shared by the city of Watsonville, a small building that is damaged can be seen when parts of the aircraft are located inside.
